“I will show technique how to be more efficient in watercolors, and how to gain control over the medium. Technically I work on dry paper, not wet paper. I’ll show how to be comfortable with a medium which doesn’t have much forgiveness. I’ll teach where to be more aggressive in your applications, and where to hold back. How to understand the accumulation of watercolor layers, to avoid overworked results. ”
COURSE
Akhriev studied watercolor from his teenage years, and will share his proficiency and experience first hand. He will demonstrate the medium, and consult with each painter individually on their progress. He will teach each M-F from 9:00-1:00 to participants in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations. Classes will begin on time.
-From 1:15 until 2:30 the estate’s restaurant will serve lunch.
-Every afternoon Akhriev will paint somewhere on the estate, and participants are welcome to paint nearby, observe and ask questions, or have independent activities.
-Several times during the course the participants will gather together to talk about progress and see one another’s work.
-Participants are welcome to ask advice about works from outside class.
-At 7:30 every evening dinner will be served in the restaurant.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The minimum age for participants is 18 yrs.
The rooms of the 17th C villa are on the third floor. Basic physical fitness to climb stairs with your luggage is obligatory.
Participants need to bring all art materials not listed as “provided.” For example, easels are not provided.
Meals are provided, but require a short walk of about two blocks through the vineyards.
Room Selection will be granted based on the order of enrollment.
The bathrooms are shared, four bathrooms total for ten students. Three are on the sleeping level.
Two washing machines are provided. Clothes are hung to air-dry in a designated room.
Airport transfers must be arranged by the students with Efram (owner of a private driving company) or by other means.
The villa has a dog.
